Wyoming Historical Museum

A beacon of history and resilience, the Wyoming Historical Museum is once again a proud tourist attraction in Eastern Jones County, Iowa. Located on the south side of Wyoming’s Main Street, the museum occupies a historic building constructed in 1878 from native Wyoming brick, originally known as The Williams Hotel. In July 2013, a devastating fire nearly destroyed the structure. However, through dedication and hard work, the community has brought it back to life. Today, the museum features twenty beautifully restored rooms, each showcasing displays that tell the rich story of Wyoming’s past. From the building's own remarkable history to exhibits celebrating the community’s heritage, the Wyoming Historical Museum stands as a testament to perseverance and pride.
