Short Fiction Competition

For: Ages 16 on up

Together with the Anamosa Journal-Eureka, the Anamosa Library and Learning Center is sponsoring a short fiction competition for the month of November. Winners will be notified Dec. 1st and the winning piece, along with an author interview, will be featured in the Journal-Eureka. Submissions will be accepted starting Sunday, Nov. 1st.

1. All types of short fiction are accepted, including short stories, poetry, plays/scripts, etc. Fiction only -- any works that could be considered slanderous will automatically be disqualified.

3. Works must be double-spaced, using 12-point font in Times New Roman, Aptos, Calibri, or Arial.

4. All works must be original and created by the participant.

5. One submission per participant.

6. Participants must be aged 16 on up.

7. Submissions may be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off in person at the library. Please make sure your name and contact info are included. Works dropped off in person will be copied via the library's copier and presented to the judges as it was submitted. Please consider presentation when submitting your work.

8. Submission deadline is Nov. 23rd by 7 p.m.
